01These terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are between you and Renovation Experts.
They apply when you use this website, book a paid inspection, or engage us for renovation work. By using the website or booking a service, you accept these Terms.
Renovation execution is always governed by a separate written Project Agreement covering your specific scope, Bill of Quantities, price, timeline and milestones. If anything in that agreement differs from these Terms, the Project Agreement governs for that project.
02Using this website
The content on this website is provided for general information about our services. You may use it for your own personal, non-commercial purposes.
You agree not to misuse the website — including attempting to gain unauthorised access, interfering with its operation, scraping content at scale, or submitting false booking requests or another person's contact details without their permission.
We work to keep the website accurate and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and content may be updated or withdrawn at any time.
03The Renovation Health Check
The Renovation Health Check is a paid engineering inspection carried out at your property by a qualified civil engineer. Fees currently range from ₹999 to ₹4,999 depending on property size and scope, and are confirmed to you before the visit.
A standard Health Check includes:
- An on-site visual and non-destructive condition survey covering structural, waterproofing, electrical and plumbing aspects within the agreed scope.
- A photo-documented written report, ordinarily delivered within 72 working hours of the visit.
- An itemised indicative budget estimate and a recommended sequence of works.
- A risk register noting conditions that may be discovered once work begins, with indicative cost bands.
The report is yours to keep and to use with any contractor you choose. Engaging us for execution is never a condition of receiving it. Where you do proceed with us, the Health Check fee is adjusted against your project value as stated at the time of booking.
What an inspection cannot cover
A Health Check is a visual and non-destructive assessment. It does not include opening walls, floors or slabs, laboratory testing of materials, or structural load calculations, unless separately agreed and priced. Conditions concealed behind finishes, inaccessible at the time of the visit, or arising after it, cannot be assessed and are noted as risks rather than findings.
04Estimates and the cost calculator
The cost calculator on this website produces an approximate range based on typical NCR rates for the room type, area and scope you select. It is not a quotation, not an offer, and creates no obligation on either side. Actual cost depends on your property's condition, specifications, material selections and site constraints — which can only be established by inspection.
Estimates contained in a Health Check report are similarly indicative. A binding price arises only from a written, itemised Bill of Quantities issued by us and accepted by you as part of a Project Agreement.
Rates, inclusions and published fees may be revised at any time. Material prices in particular are subject to market movement; where a quoted BOQ has a validity period, it is stated on the document itself.
05Scope of our engineering advice
Our reports and recommendations are professional opinions based on the conditions observed and the information available at the time of inspection. They are prepared for your use in relation to the inspected property, and should not be relied upon by third parties or for a different property.
Observations concerning structural condition are preliminary. Where a finding indicates a potential structural concern, we will say so and recommend a detailed structural investigation, which may require a licensed structural engineer, laboratory testing, or approval from the relevant local authority. Any structural alteration, load change or extension must have the approvals required by the applicable building bye-laws, society or RWA rules, and municipal authorities. We do not carry out or advise structural alteration without such approvals being in place.
We are not your legal, financial, insurance or title advisers, and nothing on this website or in our reports should be treated as advice of that nature.
06Renovation execution
Where you engage us to execute a renovation, the work is delivered either by our own project teams or by a Renovation Experts Certified Partner (RECP) operating under our delivery system, quality gates and supervision. We will tell you which applies to your project.
Scope and change orders
Work is executed strictly against the accepted itemised BOQ. Any addition, deletion or substitution is handled through a written change order that states the cost and timeline impact before the change is carried out. We do not proceed with chargeable variations on verbal instruction alone.
Quality gates
Projects progress through defined stages, each closed by a quality checklist with photographic or video evidence recorded before the next stage begins. Where a gate requires your approval or selection, delays in providing it may extend the timeline.
Timelines
Timelines are committed in the Project Agreement and we take them seriously. They are calculated on the basis of uninterrupted site access and normal working conditions, and may be extended for reasons outside our control — including delayed approvals or NOCs, restrictions imposed by the society or authorities, delayed client decisions or payments, changes in scope, concealed conditions discovered on opening up, and events of force majeure such as natural disasters, civil unrest, strikes, epidemics, or statutory construction bans (including pollution control orders in NCR).
07Payments and milestones
Health Check fees are payable at the time of booking or on completion of the visit, as communicated to you.
Project payments are structured against defined milestones set out in your Project Agreement. A milestone becomes payable when the corresponding stage has passed its quality gate and the evidence has been recorded. We do not ask for large undocumented advances.
All prices are in Indian Rupees. Applicable GST and statutory levies are charged in addition unless expressly stated otherwise. Payments must be made only to the account named on our invoice — we will never request payment to a personal account, and you should verify any change in bank details by calling us on our published number before transferring funds.
Amounts outstanding beyond the due date may attract interest as stated in the Project Agreement, and we may suspend work on the site until overdue payments are cleared.
08Warranty
Renovation work executed by us carries a written warranty, ordinarily 12 months on workmanship and 5 years on waterproofing executed by us, with the precise terms recorded in your handover documentation.
Manufacturer warranties on materials, fittings and appliances are passed through to you as issued by the manufacturer, and are subject to their terms.
The warranty does not cover: normal wear and tear; damage caused by misuse, neglect or lack of routine maintenance; work altered, repaired or added to by others after handover; damage from leakage or structural movement originating outside the scope we executed; issues arising from client-supplied materials or client-instructed deviations from our recommendations; and damage from force majeure events.
To claim, notify us in writing with photographs. We will inspect and, where the claim is valid, rectify the work within a reasonable period at no cost to you.
09Refunds and cancellation
Renovation Health Check
- Cancellation more than 24 hours before the scheduled visit — full refund, or free rescheduling if you prefer.
- Cancellation within 24 hours — rescheduling at no charge on the first occasion; thereafter up to 50% of the fee may be retained to cover the engineer's allocated time.
- Engineer unable to inspect on arrival — where our engineer reaches the property and the inspection cannot proceed because access is unavailable, the visit is treated as a late cancellation. One free revisit is offered as a goodwill measure.
- Cancelled by us — if we cancel or cannot service your location, you receive a full refund.
- After the report is delivered — the service is complete and the fee is non-refundable. If you believe the report is materially deficient, raise it with us within 15 days and we will review it, re-inspect if warranted, and refund the fee if we find the work fell short of the standard described in section 03.
Renovation projects
Cancellation of an executed project is governed by your Project Agreement. In principle: amounts corresponding to work completed and materials already procured or fabricated for your project are payable, unused amounts held against future milestones are refunded, and any cancellation charge is limited to what is stated in the agreement.
Processing
Approved refunds are processed within 7 to 10 working days to the original payment method or bank account. Payment gateway or bank charges, where applicable, may be deducted. To request a refund, contact us using the details in section 15 quoting your booking reference.
10Your responsibilities
To let us do our work properly, you agree to:
- Confirm that you own the property or are authorised by the owner to commission the work.
- Provide safe and timely site access to our engineers and teams on agreed days and hours.
- Obtain, or authorise us to assist in obtaining, the NOCs and permissions required by your society, RWA, or local authority — including any restrictions on working hours, lift usage, debris disposal or structural alteration.
- Disclose known issues, prior repairs, existing leakages and any available drawings for the property.
- Secure or remove valuables, and where required vacate areas under active work.
- Provide decisions, selections and approvals within the timeframes set out in the project schedule.
- Arrange access to water and electricity at site for execution, unless otherwise agreed.
11RECP programme
The Renovation Experts Certified Partner programme is open to qualified civil engineers who meet our verification and certification requirements. Applying does not guarantee acceptance, and certification does not guarantee any volume of work, leads or income.
Certified partners are independent professionals or businesses. They are not our employees, agents or franchisees unless expressly agreed in writing, and their engagement is governed by a separate partner agreement covering standards, conduct, quality compliance and commercial terms. Certification may be suspended or withdrawn for breach of those standards.
12Intellectual property
The Renovation Experts and RECP names, logos, the delivery system, quality checklists, templates, rate cards, website design and content are our intellectual property, protected under Indian law. You may not copy, reproduce or use them commercially without our written permission.
Reports, drawings and BOQs prepared for you may be used freely by you for your own property, including when obtaining comparison quotes from other contractors. They may not be republished commercially or used to develop a competing service.
13Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable Indian law — including your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
Subject to that:
- Our total liability arising out of an inspection is limited to the fee paid for that inspection, except where a claim arises from professional negligence, in which case our professional indemnity cover responds in accordance with its terms.
- Our total liability arising out of an executed project is limited to the amount stated in the Project Agreement.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of rent, loss of profit, or loss of opportunity.
- We are not responsible for work carried out by contractors you engage independently, including where they rely on our report.
14Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to the paragraph below, the courts at Gurugram, Haryana have exclusive jurisdiction.
Before commencing proceedings, both parties agree to attempt resolution in good faith: raise the matter with us in writing, and we will respond within 15 days and seek to resolve it. Where the dispute remains unresolved, it may be referred to arbitration by a sole arbitrator under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seated at Gurugram, Haryana, conducted in English. Nothing here limits your right to approach consumer forums available to you under Indian law.
