01Who we are
This website, renovationexperts.in, is operated by Renovation Experts (referred to here as "Renovation Experts", "we", "us" or "our").
We are an engineering-led renovation advisory and execution company operating in the Delhi NCR region. In the language of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"), we are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described in this policy, and you are the Data Principal.
You can reach us at hello@renovationexperts.in.
02What we collect
Information you give us
- Booking details — your name, phone number, city, the type of enquiry, and any notes you write about your home.
- Property details — the address and access details of the home to be inspected, shared when we schedule the visit.
- Project communication — messages, calls, approvals and change-order confirmations exchanged during a project.
- Partner applications — if you apply to the RECP programme: your qualifications, experience, registration details and professional documents.
Information generated during service
- Inspection findings — the structural, waterproofing, electrical and plumbing condition of your property.
- Site photographs and video — including concealed-work records captured before walls are closed.
- Estimates, BOQs, invoices and payment milestone records.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — pages viewed, approximate location by city, device and browser type, and referring source.
- Cost calculator inputs — room type, dimensions and scope. These are processed in your browser to show an estimate; they reach us only if you choose to carry them into a booking request.
Any project payments are processed by regulated third-party payment providers or through banking channels. We do not receive or store your card number, CVV, UPI PIN or net-banking credentials at any point.
03Why we use it
We use your personal data only for these specified purposes:
- To contact you and schedule your Renovation Health Check or site visit.
- To prepare your inspection report, cost estimate and Bill of Quantities.
- To plan, execute, supervise and hand over your renovation project.
- To maintain quality-gate evidence and concealed-work records that support your warranty.
- To raise invoices, record milestone payments and meet tax and accounting obligations.
- To respond to your questions, complaints and warranty claims.
- To assess RECP partner applications and manage certified partners.
- To improve our services, rate cards and website, using aggregated and de-identified information.
- To send you service updates about your own project. Marketing messages are sent only with your consent, and you can opt out at any time.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not rent, trade or otherwise make your contact details available to third parties for their own marketing.
04Your consent
When you submit a booking request, you consent to us processing the details you provide for the purposes listed above. Your consent is free, specific, informed and unconditional, and it is limited to those purposes.
You may withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us at hello@renovationexperts.in. Withdrawal is as easy as giving consent. Where you withdraw consent, we will stop processing your data unless we are required to retain it by law, or need it to complete a project you have contracted with us or to defend a legal claim. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
06Site photographs and reports
Photographic and video evidence is central to how we deliver quality. We capture it at each stage gate, and it forms part of the handover file you keep.
Site photographs, before-and-after images, drawings and reports relating to your property are treated as confidential. We will not use them in marketing, case studies, social media or our website unless you have given us separate written permission. You can withdraw that permission for future use at any time. Where permission is given, we can exclude identifying details such as your name, society name or unit number if you ask.
Internally, we may use de-identified images and anonymised project data — with addresses and personal details removed — to train our engineers, improve our checklists and refine our rate cards.
08How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for:
- Enquiries that do not convert — up to 24 months, then deleted or anonymised.
- Inspection reports — up to 3 years, so we can answer questions about our own findings.
- Executed project records, including concealed-work photographs — for the full warranty period and at least 6 years thereafter. These records protect you: they let us honour warranty claims and let future repairs be made without blind demolition.
- Invoices and financial records — for the period required under Indian tax law.
- RECP applications that are not accepted — up to 12 months.
When a retention period ends, we delete the data or irreversibly anonymise it.
09Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:
- Access — obtain a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we process it.
- Correction — have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected or completed.
- Erasure — have your data deleted where we no longer need it for the purpose it was collected, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Grievance redressal — raise a complaint with us and receive a response.
- Nominate — nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity.
To exercise any of these, contact us using the details in section 13. We will respond within the timelines prescribed under applicable law, and in any event without undue delay. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate the matter to the Data Protection Board of India.
10Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect your data, including access controls that limit project data to the team working on your home, encrypted transmission of data through our website, confidentiality obligations in our contracts with employees and certified partners, and periodic review of who holds access.
No system can be guaranteed completely secure. If a personal data breach occurs, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and affected users as required under the DPDP Act.
11Children
Our services are directed at property owners and professionals aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data of children. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected data of a child without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it promptly.
12Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The version number at the top of this page will always reflect the current version. Where changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to notify you — for example by email or a notice on this website.
